Thank God for friends who eat raw with you and bring their blender when you forget yours. Brandi and I did amazing this weekend. We made smoothies at least once a day and she was my prep buddy. I didn't feel left out once. She has me eating raw Brussels sprouts thrown in some sort of yummy concoction. In these photos we have a avocado berry smoothie and a really yummy fresh kale orange one. She is my partner in the raw world and I love her so much. She also braids real damn well. You need to get yourself a Brandi!
On Saturday morning we ate Chia seed porridge. Looks gross, taste like heaven. I've wanted to try this for a while now and Brandi's friend gave her a recipe right before we came up. I want to eat this every single morning. MAKE IT NOW.

Chia seed pudding
- 2 C. Almond or coconut milk
- 1/4 C chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-2 tablespoons of maple syrup or choice of sweetener ( we used honey)
- pinch of salt

Stir  really well and let sit on counter for 10 mins. Wait until thickened and put into refrigerator to chill. Enjoy with fruit or just by itself!

Okay guys... raw brownies have saved my life. I can't even explain how incredible these are. I change the recipe every single time I make them... more dates... less dates.. more nuts.. add some honey. Get creative because these are seriously the best things in the world. Bring them to parties and send me my thank you checks in the mail ;). we devoured a whole a pan of them along on this trip. Official RECIPE HERE .

Gotta selfie it up when you are going pee a thousand times a day... Here we are prepping! We came into the hotel with 2 coolers and 2 whole foods bag full of food. We called the hotel before to see if they had a fridge in the room turns out they let us rent one for $10.  not pictured some Suja Juices that made Austin really happy.

Raw Carrot Cake Balls = Amazeballs! ( I doubled this and added more cinnamon)
-1/2 cup of shredded carrot
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1/2 cup crushed pecans or walnuts
1 cup dates
1 tsp organic vanilla extract
1tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmug
1/4 tsp ground clove ( I used less than 1/4)

Blend all together in food processor.

Lets talk about Banana Mush. I stumbled upon its magic a few years back. We buy a lot of Bananas in our house. We try to buy them by the case and freeze half for Austin smoothies but sometime we don't get around to peeling them/freezing them in time.  So a while back when we had this big issue of all these spotted bananas I started mashing them up in a bowl and started throwing a variety in. Anywhere from... chia, hemp, flax seed to any sort of fruit and nut. The best part is cinnamon. Me and that bowl are besties. I like to keep it like an oatmeal for a snack or in the morning with a smoothie. You have to try it... even if you are just trying to eat cleaner you can make it super personal to the taste you want!

This trip was successful because we prepared! I would always rather have to much food than not enough. Turns out we've even been spending less money too because I always have food stashed with me and Austin has been able to snack when before we would just go get food.

On last thing, before I committed to go 365 days eating raw foods I knew It was going to have to be realistic. I knew myself and what I crave. To be honest when I'm tired, sick, or plane out starving I crave a lot of soups. We love making random soups in our house and I decided that I would allow myself to randomly eat 100% vegan soup with a few veggies thrown in through out the year. The hardest thing about raw eating is craving something warm.  These are my goals and I still count myself as eating fully raw even though some people may not. I just wanted to be honest and share that with all of you because its part of the journey! I'm also really excited to try out a lot of raw soups!
UntitledI accidentally made a Rosemary Carrot Bisque and the 4 guys I fed it to devoured it. Literally guys, vegetable broth, onion, garlic, carrots, red pepper. Accidentally spill half the rosemary in. Cook, blend and find hungry men.

Am I the only one who never follows recipes??
